Treatment
We are home from the hospital. The surgery went well and instead of an overnight stay, they let us come home. Nothing better than being in your own bed! The hole in his colon was about 2-3 inches up into his rectum, so they did not have to open him up, but.... (no puns intended:) he is really sore. The hole is closed and he can already tell the difference because his urine is clear and more is filtering into his catheter. Now we are keeping the fingers crossed that the hole heals well so he does not need to have another surgery to put a colostomy bag in. But for now, everything is well.
