I had a prostatectomy in July 2015. My most recent PSA screening showed I have a .1 level. I had the same PSA screening level 4 months ago. My urologist said that I most likely still have cancer somewhere in my body. He said it is possible it is in the area where the prostate used to be and if the PSA level continues to rise, I would be a candidate for salvage radiation. He said that at this time it is impossible to determine if that is where any additional cancer might be located, but the salvage radiation would need to be done before the cancer is detecteble. It is possible I could go through the treatment without any benefit. I would appreciate any input from others who have been in this situation. Thank you.
