Home is suddenly important

Wellbeing
I was walking with my son and he said to me, “Dad, you need a house.” I knew instantly what he meant. We walked by a place that had a “for sale by owner” sign on it, and we went in and checked it out. I bought that house and planted some roots, opening up the idea of a grounded, rooted … future.

Along with this newfound understanding came a sense that my long distance relationship was never going to be under a single roof, and that facing a significant life challenge warrants a partner’s support – Deb and I both came to this realization at the same time. Though we still care deeply for one another, after 3.5 years together we have made the decision to open ourselves up to new, closer relationships. I am so glad we are doing this in a way that will allow our friendship and support to continue.
